An exhibition. An experience. A reminder that beauty is not always on the surface.
On the occasion of World Environment Day, LAMDA Flisvos Marina and WWF Greece invite young and old to experience a unique event dedicated to the protection of the sea and its precious ecosystems.
The outdoor photo exhibition on the enchanting Posidonia meadows – the "underwater forests" of the Mediterranean – has been ongoing at the marina since June 3rd and, due to the warm response from the public, has been extended until June 30th.
It is a silent treasure of the marine environment, hiding life, beauty, and hope. A rare and vital marine ecosystem that connects the visible with the invisible, life itself with the beauty of nature. The Posidonia meadows not only provide shelter to dozens of marine species but also act as powerful allies in the fight against climate change by absorbing large amounts of carbon dioxide.
Why come?
As part of the exhibition, the informational panels have been placed along the installation, around and inside the marina, offering visitors the opportunity to explore, learn, and be inspired. The feeling is magical – a walk among images, stories, and truths that concern us all.
The exhibition offers a comprehensive information experience, while also encouraging visitors to take an active role in protecting this fragile ecosystem.
A special experience of the actions was the educational program "In Poseidon's Kingdom," which took place on June 5th with the support of WWF Greece's environmental education team.
First-grade students from the 1st Primary School of Paleo Faliro participated in:
Through this experiential approach, children learned in a simple and attractive way about the importance of protecting the marine environment.
At the same time, from June 5th to 30th, WWF Greece's Face2Face team is at the marina, informing visitors about the environmental challenges our planet faces and the solutions promoted by the organization, encouraging them to support the organization's work through volunteer programs and other forms of support.
These initiatives are part of LAMDA Flisvos Marina's ongoing commitment to promoting environmental awareness and enhancing interaction with the local community and marina visitors.
Flisvos Marina continues to dynamically invest in a sustainable future, where environmental protection is not an option but a core axis of its operation and philosophy.
